The United States Marshals Arizona Wanted Violent Offender Task Force as well as from the Pima County Fugitive Investigative Strike Team (FIST), assisted with the arrest of Jeremy Shane Davis, age 27, by Tucson Police on Thursday.
Davis was wanted in connection with the shooting of 25-year old Ricky Lomax on May 1, 2013 at the Walmart located at 3925 East Grant Road. Detectives from the Gang Investigations Unit determined that Lomax was involved in an altercation with several individuals near the front entrance to the Walmart. At least one of those individuals fired shots at the victim striking him multiple times. The victim walked through the Walmart doors into the store where he collapsed and was found by police.
At approximately 2:20 p.m. on July 18, the US Marshals and Pima County FIST personnel located Mr. Davis at an apartment complex in the 500 block of South Camino Seco. After confirming that the man they saw was Davis, they notified members of TPD and began coordinating efforts to apprehend him. Davis indicated that he was not going to exit the apartment that he was in at the complex. As a result, TPD officers, SWAT Team, and Hostage Negotiations Unit responded to assist with his apprehension. Davis communicated directly with personnel from the Hostage Negotiations Unit and ultimately came out of the residence without further incident just before 5:00 p.m.
